All good art does what this clip does – as evidenced by? the reactions here… the one axiom I would add to your comment… art, as in life, is rarely ever what it appears to be at any moment in time.

lol to the social commentary in the comments. the best music back then was influenced by the same thing as the best music, now: opiates, politics, and OMG THE MUSIC! Also… heroine kills rockstars dead.
As to the look, don’t blame the kids, blame the parents who want to be cool and buy it for them. Obviously? this chanteuse was taught the axiom “When you first get there, act as if you’ve been there the whole time,” but doesn’t she look nervous? Have you heard Amy Winehouse’s version?

Wishfull thinking, what we need is a “Jazz Revolution”, bring back the music of the era, Stan Getz, Dave Brubeck etc. I know that I would love to? attend a jazz concert that included music of this calibre. God Bless All!!

ala in orden of apparition; Madonna (80′s mind you not just 2012..) then Shakira,? Beyonce, Lady Gaga, Rihanna & Christina Aguilera who doesn’t even wear skirt or pants in The Voice, with a public of very young kids…she prances about in a sort of diaper, UGH..terrible..

There are? loads of artists out there, such as Maura Davis (lead signer/keys/& guitarist of Denali)…as well as others such as Joy Williams of The Civil Wars, or Leslie Feist of Feist? There are many ladies with as much talent as the lovely Astrud still out there. Just because the lot of the world likes to listen to vile music that pours out of the radio, doesn’t mean we all do. I’m not trying to put any hate into my comment, just stating that there are women with class still out there.

Even though the 60′s were some turbulent times the music was for? the most part so much more subdued. And I must say our parents had so much more class. This women is gorgeous, classy and sexy. Too bad things aren’t like this anymore. Maybe we can bring it back. What goes around comes back around as they say.

  19. Bluzme says:

  23. 48reedman says:

The beauty of this is that Astrud was not a professional singer. Getz used her, and she became an overnight sensation. You can see she’s not used to? being in front of people. What makes it great is the honesty, with Getz playing subdued to match her singing, Classic!

  24. cococandykiss says:

  25. tonnym says:

It depends on the way you? perform it.
