Etta James – I’d Rather Go Blind Etta James was born Jamesetta Hawkins Jan. 25, 1938 in Los Angeles, California, to Dorothy Hawkins. She claimed that her mother told her that her father was a white pool player, Rudolf “Minnesota Fats” Wanderone. She is an American blues, soul, R&B, rock & roll, gospel and jazz singer and songwriter. In the 1950s and 1960s, she had her biggest success as a blues and R&B singer. She is best known for performing “At Last”.

Among his many collaborations, these are worth mentioning: Joey DeFrancesco, Jesse Davis, Stefano Bollani, Paolo Dalla Porta, Stefano Battaglia, Ares Tavolazzi, Phil Drummy, Tullio De Piscopo, Enzo Jannacci, Arup Kanti Das, Christian Meyer, Anna Oxa, Paul Reed Smith, Massimo Manzi, Rosario Bonaccorso, Stefano Cerri, Irio De Paula, Bebo Ferra, Sandro Gibellini, Andy Just, Alberto Marsico, Massimo Colombo, Marku Ribas, Stefano Bagnoli, Giampiero Prina, Juarez Moreira, Jimmy Cobb, Stefan Milenkovich.
