This K & M clarinet stand is terrific. The bottom support legs are connected to a center screw that screws into the funnel, with the legs either folded out for use or folded up for storage inside the funnel. The stored size is 2 and 5/8 inches wide by 6 and 1/4 inches long–small enough to fit in some clarinet cases but not most. Both Bb and Eb soprano clarinets sit firmly and securely on the stand, which won’t tip over. They also won’t get stuck on the stand or bruised by the stand, and the stand is very light weight. Brilliant design and highly recommended.

this stand works great. it’s sturdy and won’t get knocked over. plus, it’s small and can be taken anywhere your clarinet goes.

Being a dedicated clarinetist, I began to dislike laying my clarinet on the couch during my practice at home, and even more-so began to dislike setting my clarinet in my chair during band practice at school. Being able to leave the room for a minute, knowing that my clarinet is in a safe place where it would not be stepped on or knocked over has made my practice experience so much more enjoyable! I recommend this stand to ANYONE that plays clarinet. It will save tons of money on instrument repairs! Never again will your clarinet fall off of your lap during practice. Just get in the habit of using this stand!
The body of the stand is made out of a durable hard plastic piece that is hollow. The metal legs of the stand are connected to a screw that screws right into the body of the plastic piece. The legs will fold up vertically and fit just inside the plastic piece and then screw in tightly for easy carrying. The only thing that might be a problem is that the plastic piece is a few inches longer than the bell of your instrument. In some clarinet cases, you will not be able to leave the stand in your case for easy carrying. In my clarinet carrying case, there isn’t a felt wall separating my bell and mouthpiece so a few inches of the stand also goes into my mouthpiece.
Overall, this is a wonderful thing to buy and don’t freak out when you feel how light the stand is. Your clarinet WILL NOT fall over from being top heavy unless you purposely try to knock it over. So BUY IT!! :)
