Meinl Cajon Box Drum with Internal Metal Strings for Adjustable Snare Effect - NOT MADE IN CHINA - Hardwood Full Size, 2-YEAR WARRANTY (HCAJ1NT)

  • PERFECT FOR CREATING DRUMSET GROOVES: Support any style of music in a live or studio setting with bass and snare drum sounds from the Meinl Headliner Series Hardwood String Cajon (measures 11 3/4" wide x 12" deep x 18" tall). The playing surface has two different zones for bass and snare sounds. Playing towards the center of the cajon creates deep bass; striking the top corners gives you a crisp slap tone like a snare drum.
  • HARDWOOD BODY AND PLAYING SURFACE: The solid hardwood body with thick rubber feet has excellent tonal qualities that broaden your bass notes and focus your rolls and corner hits to take your beats to the next level. The deep and punchy frontplate provides the basis for rich sound development. This durable playing surface delivers a full bass spectrum, cutting snare slaps, and responds to soft finger rolls.
  • ADJUSTABLE TOP CORNERS AND INTERNAL STRINGS: Adjustable metal strings span against the inside of the playing surface to add a snare sound and are tuned from the bottom of the cajon (hex key included inside). To alter the amount of "slap" sound from corner hits, the screws located closest to the top corners may be loosed or tightened to vary the amount of gap between the playing surface and cajon body.
  • REAR PORT IDEAL FOR MIC PLACEMENT: A rear sound port is cut into the back of the resonating body to allow air to escape from the cajon as you play it. This results in enhanced tonal qualities and overall feel. This is an ideal spot to place a microphone when amplification is needed.
  • OFFICIAL TWO YEAR MEINL WARRANTY: All Meinl cajons carry a two year manufacturer's warranty when purchased from authorized retailers
  • FROM THE MANUFACTURER: Customers may notice a link below for a newer version/model of this item offered by Pyle. This is false. Meinl Percussion is in no way associated with Pyle. As Amazon shoppers may already be aware, high quality products from trusted industry-leading brands often encounter hastily made imitations.
The MEINL Headliner Series Cajons deliver the classic cajon sound at an affordable price and can be used in Flamenco or World Music. They are also very useful during unplugged gigs for delivering the rhythmic foundation for a whole band when a full drum set can't be used.

I’m a little conflicted on how to rate this product. On one hand it does exactly what it is supposed to do for a very low price. In that regard it is a “5 star” item. On the other, you’re not getting a top end product.

The seat is comfortable enough but it is smaller than a “standard” seat. The padding is adequate. The leg braces are loose and rattle but the legs themselves are tight and the throne base is sturdy. If you don’t tighten the thumb screw on the seat base but turn it in there is a recess in the post that keeps the seat on the post yet it allows it to rotate on the post. The post wobbles a little in the base even when the adjusting bolt is as tight as you can get it. It’s not rickety, but not rock solid either.

It is the perfect stand for someone looking to spend little but still needs a throne that will do the job. Good for a practice, beginners, etc. The throne is not for a gigging drummer, or some one looking for a throne they will spend hours on end on. Hence the 4 stars, perfect for what it is, but not for every drummer out there.

This throne is ok but if you have a little more spending money i would get a different one. this one hurts a lot and looks cushiony but it is not at all. but as i said if you can spend a little more i would do that.
